Darning Needles

Darning needles are used to stitch together two pieces of fabric, to repair (darn) socks or other hand knitted fabrics, and to duplicate stitch designs onto a knitted fabrics, but mostly they are used to weave in ends on a project. This makes us wonder why they aren't called End Weaving Needles.
